For most of my life I never felt as if I was good enough, smart enough, or pretty enough. I needed to study more and eat less…after all, that’s what everyone expected, right?

I spent years caring about what other people thought and living my life based on those perceptions.

After a while I got sick of it. I gave up caring. I let it all go…and unfortunately I ended up with some pretty terrible health problems. Weight gain had me up to 185+ lbs along with severe stomach pain and digestion issues.

Fortunately, life was kind enough to open my eyes up to the fact that I was unhealthy and miserable. I made the choice to change that, but I made one significant change.

My choices and actions were for ME.

Making healthy choices; working out, eating right, and taking time to grow and learn weren’t for other people. These changes weren’t for what they said or what they thought. These changes were for a better me.

It took time, but eventually I was able to tell myself I was good enough. I acknowledged that I was making better choices. I was taking care of myself, improving both my health and my mentality.

You don’t have to have the supermodel body or those 6pack abs to feel good about yourself (if you do, or still want them, that’s cool too. Rock that sh*t out ?). The point is to learn to accept yourself inside and out, to learn to take care of yourself, and to love yourself. Don’t ever let anyone else dictate that you aren’t good enough.

Every day I remind myself that no one can make me feel bad for loving myself.

Everyone tells you life is a journey, and I’d have to agree. There will always be ups and downs. But, if you are working towards making a better you, a better life, and a better world…who can dare claim you don’t deserve to feel good enough, healthy enough, or pretty enough.

Which brings us to it.

Taking care of yourself, your mental and physical wellbeing is a continuous battle and journey. It’s also amazing. You should feel good about it.

Don’t ever let anyone else make you feel as if you don’t deserve to think of yourself in a positive light.

Healthy is Hot.

My goal here is to help empower women to build up positive mentality and self love while living a healthy lifestyle.

I wholeheartedly encouraging others to do the same.

Let’s work towards lifting each other up, not tearing each other down.
